August 20, 2011, TriNoma Mall in Quezon City – After launching the PUMA FAAS shoe line that brings in the technological and innovative running collection, PUMA now activates the fun and experiential feature that the brand and shoe provides.

FAAS got its name from the Jamaican word for “FAST”, and so as to what the shoes can offer. This collection is grounded in performance and features a biomechanical design technology exclusive to PUMA, called BioRide™ that focuses in giving the shoes a naturally responsive ride. This technology provides three attributes to the shoes: “ROCKER” which allows that natural ride with a smooth touchdown and effortless toe-off. “FLEX” that grooves in key zones for natural foot movement. And “GROOVE” which responds to your biomechanics for natural stability. The FAAS shoes help runners get into their own rhythm for increased speed and performance.

No less than the Fastest Man in the World, Usain Bolt, who wears FAAS during his training in preparation for the 2012 Summer Olympic Games in London. PUMA kicks off an event through a race course built with a “rasta-fied” vibe. The brand brings in the funky obstacle course in one of the busiest mall in Manila – TriNoma where Gerald Anderson, a PUMA brand ambassador and currently one of the most promising male actors of today.

The innovative BioRide™ technology featured in the Faas shoes spent years in development.  PUMA took a look at some of the fastest athletes like Usain Bolt, and studied their stride, gait cycle, and overall running skills. There were three proven and consistent skills that were identified as critical to top performance.  PUMA translated these elements into three features—ROCKER, FLEX & GROOVE—that became the cornerstones of the BioRide™ technology and the FAAS shoes.
