Located at the Serendra lifestyle mall in Fort Bonifacio, Silk is a restaurant with cozy and chic interiors. Whether youʼre having a date, a family meal or just having lunch with your friends, it is the perfect place to leisurely enjoy delicious and mouthwatering Thai food. The Silk menu is made up of traditional Thai cuisine, in which a full meal not only acquaints you with the various spices and flavors of Asia, it also allows you to enjoy a balance of the four fundamental taste flavors of Thai cuisine – sweet, spicy, salty and sour.

Seafood Roll
Start off with the traditional Thai soup of Tom Yum Talay, which is a sour-spicy seafood soup with hints of galangal, lemon grass and coriander. Try the Silk Appetizer Selection that is a mélange of the restaurantʼs different appetizers – the bestselling Thai Spring Rolls, Tung Tong or Crispy Shrimp and Coriander Pastry, Grilled Pork wrapped in Betel Leaf, and the delectable Chicken Satay served with Thai Curry Sauce.

Seafood Basket
For seafood enthusiasts, try our new Seafood Satay which are marinated skewers of Prawn, Squid and Snapper fillets that come with a delightful dipping sauce of palm vinegar and various condiments, and the famous Pomelo and Shrimp Salad, which will surely transport you to the streets and markets of Thailand

Of course, having a Thai meal will not be complete without a taste of curry. For those who do not like spicy food, the Green Chicken Curry is perfect for you, although all dishes may be adjusted to your personal spice level preference. Try the Roast Duck in Red Curry and the tender, stewedfor-hours Beef Shank in Mussaman Curry.

For the main course, Silk has an extensive set of dishes that offer lots of chicken, beef, seafood and vegetables. For crab lovers, the Deep Fried Soft Shell Crab with Black Pepper Sauce is a must and feast on the new Crab dish as well (cooked in 3 ways – Crab with Egg Curry, Crab with Black Pepper Sauce and Garlic Crab). For sweet and sour flavor enthusiasts we have also added a new dish to the menu - Thai Style Sweet and Sour Lapu Lapu.

Kulinarya Festival at Bayview

Discover a destination where you get every single cent you pay back to your senses - exceptional value meets unmatched services and location. Discover Bayview Park Hotel - situated along the famous Roxas Boulevard in Manila. The winning factor of Bayview Park Hotel, is its Pinoy hospitality as evidenced by the welcoming smiles of the hotel staff.

Backed by 75-year history of unparalleled service, Bayview is one of the most sought-after hotels by leisure and business travelers. The great hotel accommodation gives you everything you need under one roof – affordable guestroom as well as excellent restaurants. Hospitable, dependable, modest, respected, distinguished – are the very characteristics of Bayview Park Hotel. Characteristics that endears this hotel to new and repeat clients.

Talking about restaurants, I, myself, am not into spicy cuisines. Nevertheless, even though I refrain from those, I just couldn’t hesitate and stop myself from dining when I was invited  for a lunch with guests and bloggers for the dry run of  Kulinarya Festival Program at Bayview ParkHotel which DOT and with some members of Hotel & Restaurant Association of the Philippines (HRAP) in promoting tourism. This “Kulinarya Festival” that will about to kick off on July 2011.

Serving Bicol Cuisine

Bicolano cuisine, noted by Filipinos as perhaps the most "incendiary" in the entire country, with their 3 magic dishes: sili (finger chili), pili nut, and gata (coconut milk). The region is known for its spicy dishes, most of which are cooked using gata. With the exception of the pili, both the sili and the gata play central roles in a popular dish that bears the name of the region.

During the dry run, they prepared Bicol Express(well known as laing), Adobong Manok sa Gata, Pinangat, Pansit Bato, Sinabawang Malaswang Isda and Ensaladang Lato. They also served crispy caramelled  Pili Nuts and Banana Chips and other delicacies such as the ever colorful and tasteful sapin-sapin, biko and ubi halaya.

Eating spicy  foods, considering that not all of the tourists and guests visiting the hotel, they make sure that the spiciness of the dishes is acceptable enough to their taste. They separate the extra chilies at the side for those who wanted their food more spicy and hot.

Though I am not spicy and gata-blend food lover, when eating what they served, it taste very good especially the Bicol Express. The combination of coconut milk, bagoong, and chili peppers creates a very distinctive flavor. It is really good. I enjoyed and couldn’t stop myself from dining.

HRAP members namely the Century Park Hotel, Discovery Suites, Café Illustrado, Bacolod Chicken Inasal and Serye Restaurant joined  the Kulinarya Festival on July 2011.

Here are the schedules of  the authentic Filipino dishes that will served on weekdays of July at Bayview Park Hotel. The buffet lunch cost only Php600 per head and for reservation, please call Bayview Park Hotel at 526 1555.
