Fashionably You.

Ever wonder how certain people always look nice and you don't? It's because they're dressing fashionably and know how to look good! By following these steps, you can be on your way to having a fantastic, fashionable wardrobe.

Organize: Get out all your clothes and decide which ones you want and don't want. Donate, sell, or re-purpose anything that you haven't worn in a year (that isn't seasonal), doesn't fit or is plain ugly!

Flatter: Look at yourself in the mirror and as objectively as possible, pick things about your physical appearance you like and dislike. What do you want to disguise? What do you want to emphasize? What's your body type?

Style: What do you like? Do you want to incorporate trendy items into your wardrobe, or do you prefer a classic look? Spend time flipping through catalogs, or surfing websites that feature clothes. Do you even want to figure out a way to incorporate witty T-shirts, or is pleather more your style? There are tons of different pieces that will look phenomenal on you- what do you like?

Context: Where you live, where you go and what you do are major factors in dressing fashionably! If you wear a ballgown to the office that's not fashionable; if you wear a business suit to the prom, likewise. Think about what kind of clothing is appropriate for the things you're going to be doing.

Shop: The best thing to do is to buy long-lasting pieces that will retain their class throughout seasons. Fashion changes extremely quickly! Don't fill your wardrobe with things that won't be appropriate the same time next year, and don't spend a lot of money on fashion items. Think about step 4 again. What kinds of coats, jackets or sweaters do you need? Put this kind of information in the context of what flatters your body.

Shop more: Now that you've got the basics, it's time to have fun! Buy some great shoes, cute accessories and get a haircut! No need to go classic here unless that's your taste - handbags, shoes and jewelry is the place to show your sassy side. Bright purple pleather trench looks too tacky? A handbag in the same style will be fantastic.

Ask someone else to go with you shopping. It's always good to have an outsiders perspective. Bring along someone who can give you well-formulated critique regarding your clothes. The image we see in the mirror isn't always how you really look!

NEW BEGINNINGS FASHION WATCH QUARTET 2011 FEATURING LEN NEPOMUCENO

Standing as a creative avenue, Fashion Watch Quartet continues to be the much-awaited series that continues to bring to the forefront fresh new talent through an exciting fashion event. This year, 2011, marks the revival of Fashion Watch Quartet. The much raved about fashion series is back for good, amped up and better than ever!

With a roster of homegrown and international talents, fashion forward Filipino craftsmanship rises to the surface as renowned designer Len Nepomuceno brings forth new design inspirations for the season.

LULU TAN-GAN. In the Philippine fashion scene, Lulu Tan-Gan’s name has been synonymous with KNITWEAR since 1985. In a tropical country such as the Philippines, knits were traditionally perceived as stuffy and boring. Only a keen and gutsy designer would see beyond this façade and actually create pieces for the expatriates & tourist that come to Manila & for the jet-set Filipinos that travel to cooler destinations.

JC BUENDIA.  Designer to both Presidents Arroyo and Aquino, and newly-elected President of the Fashion and Design Council of the Philippines, JC Buendia is a master of quiet, exact tailoring.

Fashion Watch 2011 is a project of the CFDP (Council of Fashion Designers of the Philippines). It will run from April to November, 2011. Each week will feature the collection of two designers in back-to-back format, who will have his/her creations unveiled to all through a fashion show held at the lobby area of the prestigious Shangri-La Makati Hotel.

The series will feature 19 of the country’s most notable designers, each showcasing a brand new collection. Each designer is exclusive to Fashion Watch Quartet; you won’t see their collections on any other fashion show series. Every designer will showcase their Holiday collection early on in the year and a Spring/Summer collection towards the latter part of the year, much like fashion timetables abroad.

Fashion Watch Quartet will also stage special shows as several internationally known ASEAN designers will be flown in to display their creations to the Filipino public.

Besides an A-list roster of designers, models, and media partners The Philippine Star, Preview, StyleBible, and StarWorld, Fashion Watch Quartet boasts of industry greats working behind-the-scenes as well, including Patrick Rosas and team as the force behind hair and makeup, Grace Molina as Project Coordinator and Director and  Manila’s Prince of Fashion himself, Inno Sotto as Creative Director .

As Fashion Watch Quartet makes its comeback, it continues to raise the bar for how today’s fashion show series should be.

Fashion Watch 2011 is presented by Olay, Makati Shangri-la Hotel, Philippine Star, Preview Magazine, Starworld and Stylebible.ph in cooperation with major sponsors BMW and Metro Pacific Investments.

KicKers: A Step into a More Stylish Direction

Wherever you’re headed, whatever you need to do, there’s always a pair of Kickers shoes that’s perfect for you.

With a brand history that dates back to 1970, Kickers is considered a popular favorite when it comes to on-trend styles matched with high quality.

Daniel Raufast came up with the idea for a free-spirited footwear brand after seeing a poster for the American musical, HAIR. Kickers tapped a younger generation who, even at that time, invented an original way of life that is in tune with their personal aspirations. Through fashion, they were also able to express their originality although one integral part of their “creative look” seemed to be missing: shoes.

Kickers was developed with the spirit of INDEPENDENCE, OPTIMISM, IMAGINATION, and ESCAPE in mind. Its name was derived from the English word, “Kick”, plus “Ker” to make it sound American then “s” was added to match it with jeans.  And just like jeans – the quintessential fashion piece of the youth in those days, Kickers wasn’t just in-fashion but it also practical and comfortable. It instantly appealed to the offspring of the swinging seventies who appreciated simple, authentic qualities of natural materials.

Kickers in the Philippines

Since it was launched in the Philippines in the ‘90s, Kickers has been more popularly known to stylish teens who wanted to be in the know on the latest shoe trends. Just like in its earlier years, Kickers continued to become a popular brand even among the Filipino youth making it an instant hit in local shores. While the brand has become a preppy favorite of sorts, it now wants to show consumers – even those who have been loyal to the brand for years, that Kickers is a full-on lifestyle shoe brand that can cater to your various lifestyle needs.

More than just the perfect school shoes, Kickers does carry a full lineup of shoe styles ranging from casual footwear to more polished styles.  Just take a look at its Spring/Summer 2011 collection which is a big departure from the usual designs that Kickers has been best known for.

Kickers Spring/Summer 2011
Usher in a brand new season with a pair of Kickers shoes from its current Spring/Summer collection. Composed of high-quality leather shoes in a bevy of styles and colors, the ladies will surely have something exciting to look forward to this season.

Whether for work, school, or leisure wear, Kickers has introduced a great lineup this season starting with the more fashion-forward Hava. Made of snakeskin leather, this colorful pair of closed flats will easily brighten even the most boring office outfit. It’s also casual enough to be worn with your weekend outfits. Next is Hanne, otherwise known as the “sexy summer shoe”, with a wedge heel and floral straps, this sandal just exudes the fun spirit of summer and is best worn with shorts or breezy summer dresses. Its wedge heel also makes legs look longer and leaner.  For trendy fashionistas, Kickers’ Holly and Hope shoes will definitely catch your fancy. In line with the brogues trend, Holly easily completes a fun, festival look while Hope is the girlier version which looks great with shorts or short skirts. Last but not the least is Hip, the most casual style in this season’s lineup of ladies shoes for Kickers. With fun prints and a cute floral detail, this fun and colorful slip-on is a no-fuss summer shoe that you’ll surely love.

With a fresh new take – and a fun collection to boot, Kickers’ current Spring/Summer collection is a true testament of how the brand continuously evolves to meet the demands of its clients, one stylish step at a time.

Kickers is exclusively distributed by the Primer Group of Companies and available at Kickers store: SM Megamall and SM The Block; Res/Toe/Run; Bratpack; Olympic Village Robinson’s Pioneer; Robinson’s Department Store Ermita; Rustan’s Department Stores Alabang and Tower; Landmark Department Stores Makati and Trinoma; SM Department Stores nationwide.

Triumph Inspiration Award 2011 (Berlin Beckons)

Global leader and lingerie giant, Triumph International, is set to break records this year with the Triumph Inspiration Award 2011. Now on its 4th consecutive year, the competition is at its biggest with 37 participating countries, with the grand finals taking center stage at the opening night of the Berlin Fashion Week in July no less.

Poised to capture design talent from around the world, Triumph International worked hand in hand with local prestigious fashion and design schools to bringing the competition at the grass roots level. Triumph International Philippines, in partnership with the School of Fashion and the Arts (SoFa), has geared up for the Triumph Inspiration Award 2011, with ten students vying to represent the Philippines in the international finals.

Judging this year’s national competition to be held on April 13 at Members Only, are some of fashion and design luminaries, which include Rissa Mananquil, Amina Aranaz-Alunan and Dong Omaga-Diaz, joined by 2008 Triumph Inspiration Award National Winner and now fashion designer, Ralph Ng, and Head of Sales & Marketing of Triumph International Philippines, Lorelei de Leon.
As if things cannot get any bigger this year, 2011 also marks the 125th anniversary of Triumph, to which the young designers will be creating their interpretations of the theme “125 Years of Celebrating Women.” Admittedly quite a challenge and pressure for the contestants, the top ten final designs ranging from romantic, tribal, down to avant-garde, did not disappoint. CREATIONS Salon, by top hair and make-up artist Lourd Ramos, lent its creative expertise in enhancing each and every peg from the look book, making the judging quite a feat with all the entries now equally strong contenders to be the Philippines’ official entry in the finals.

With the competition tougher as ever, Triumph has taken the match online and making your votes count to determine the People’s Choice Award. Visit the Triumph International Philippines fan page to view the final designs and cast a vote for your favorite pieces.

It would be too ambitious to say that we will win in the finals, but one thing is for sure, the Philippines is in it to win it, and we are taking Berlin by storm

Martin Del Rosarion and Coleen Garcia for BNY

                                                  COLEEN       and      MARTIN
                      - A bright new star to watch out for                         -Not Your Ordinary “Dream Boy”

Nobody embodies the most up-to-date trends in casual wear better than the youth themselves. It’s all about what they wear and how they wear it. It’s about attitude spunk, and self-expression.

Coleen and Martin, both blessed with good looks and great sense of style, BNY is most pleased to welcome them both, yet again, to the company as its teen image moels. Indeed, they are the perfect embodiment of what is hip, trendy, and shouts, “We are the youth of Today!”

Axe - Hot, Hot, Heaven On Earth

Eons ago, when all creation was young, immortal beings of unparalleled grace and beauty regularly went down from their heavenly abode and lived among the men of this world. Then suddenly they all departed this mortal earth, leaving behind monuments to their magnificence and reminders of days that men thought would never come again.
That is, until now.
Goddesses on Earth
Reprise the golden age of long ago, when the goddesses freely walked among us. Know what it was like to be in the presence of sheer beauty. These are women who are exceptionally hot, whose gorgeousness can only be described as otherworldly.
“There hasn’t been a night like this, where we are all fortunate to be graced with the presence of amazingly stunning ladies,” says Paul Diaz, Brand Manager for AXE. “The time is right for the goddesses to make a comeback.”
These AXE goddesses will dazzle everyone through a short fashion show, roaming the catwalk as they had roamed this earth back then. There might not be another moment in this lifetime where beings of such splendor can actually be seen, in the flesh! And we do mean, in the flesh. This is the time to bask in their presence, to see their faces, the glow in their skin, and absorb their auras, merely inches away from your own.
They will be looking for true hot-blooded males brave enough to stand in their midst. Are you one of them? Simply spray on some AXE Provoke, and shift the balance of power to your side. It will give you that extraordinary edge to help in stroking their desire.
After the show, get down and party with the goddesses! Show us what you are made of—it will be a long night of excitement, guaranteed full of the hottest women you could ever hope to see in the city, courtesy of AXE Provoke.
Goddesses on the Prowl
The Goddess Fashion Show will also launch the AXE Provoke SM Mall tour. These goddesses are ready to take the metro by storm, sweeping the cities one SM Supermarket at a time, picking out some lucky mortal men who will receive their very own AXE Provoke.
If you have avoided the supermarket for the longest time and think of it as a ladies-only place, think again, as you risk your chances of being one of the chosen few.
The modern-day goddesses are on the prowl! Thanks to AXE, you can now get your game on with them, and being merely mortal is now just part of the fun.
